With the assistance of 4 players from other veteran’s clubs Geelong had 2 teams entered in the Sunshine Coast Winter Carnival which concluded on Friday 25th July.  22 Geelong players made the trip to Queensland to enjoy perfect weather conditions for cricket on the 4 playing days – sunny skies, light winds and a temperatures of around 22 degrees.

The Geelong White team played against the stronger teams in the carnival and were successful in 3 of their 4 games. The Geelong Blue team, (average age 74 years), won 1 of their 4 games, but was beaten in 2 of the losses in the final over of the matches.

At this time the dates for the 2026 Sunshine Coast Winter Carnival are unknown, but Geelong will certainly be looking to play in this successful carnival again next winter.
